Situated between ?the Balagne? and ?the Cap Corse?, ?the Agriates? represent 40 km of coasts as wild as magnificent. No road leads to this beautiful place, only rough tracks, by way of real roads at the same moment of the purgatory and the adventure so much the contrast is big between the aridity of lands and the abundance of a sea clear and lined with long beaches of fine sand.

So this place is the biggest natural site of the Mediterranean coast. And, it is not really so dry as it seems if you look at the multiple brooks, the sources and the ponds which live there.

It is possible to reach this place by sea route because the moistenings are relatively numerous.

Agriates's desert contains no village, if it is not some misled constructions, by way of former huts.

This place was also in Moyen-Age the real wheat loft of the island of beauty.

What knocks most in this desert is, besides the scorching heat which reigns to it, the smell of the compound Corsican undergrowth notably of cistes, rosemary and the other thym.
