This forest of 1500 ha, compound for the greater part of pines laricio and of beeches, is crossed by multiple paths. The whole is situated in a valley dominated by mountains of more than 2000 m.

This forest, following the example of the pass of the same name, is known by all the walkers informed about the GR 20.

To note that it is possible to arrive in this place by the train at 1. 10 from Ajaccio and about 2. 30 from Bastia.

It is so one of the main falling points of walks in Corsica.
