history corsica porto vecchio bonifacio
In 1552 Henry 2nd King of France launches the storming of the Italian peninsula by trying to take a geographical position of Corsica, he found himself loaded with problems.

In 1553 the Kings army lead by Colonel Sampieru Corsu seized Bastia, Corte, Ajaccio and Calvi. Only a few days where necessary t make Corsica a French land. The colonel stayed a symbolic person of the combat against the Genoese. His popularity wasn't enough to save the French victory. By the treaty of "Château Cambresis" in April 1559, France returned Corsica to the Genoese. Corsicans once again found their enemy.
