The Corsican relief is propitious for mountaineering in all ranges of difficulty whether it is the peaks overhanginging the valley of Asco or the forest of Ospedale in the south.
Les aiguilles de Bavella, is very popular with climbers together with the Monte Cinto are the best adapted.

Les aiguilles de Bavella : before reaching the pass, there are cliffs which are used for beginners they are from 40 to 90 m. The most technical paths for climbing are situated higher up the mountain, between la Punta di l'Acellu and la Punta di u Pargulu. The level of difficulty varies between 3 and 8a, and a good number of paths are estimated between 4 or 5, which would be for an average climber. Towards the south east as you head to the refuge di Paliri by the GR20, there are other possibilities, particularly on la Punta Tafunata di Paliri, recognizable by the hole in the peak. This same side is equipped with a via ferata with around 70 m of cables and around twenty ladder type inserts, catering for everyone(except those who are scared of heights). Access : refuge di Paliri (2 hr return).

The valley of Asco : is also equipped with a via ferata. Considered as being one of the most beautiful in France, it takes 3hrs and accounts for 350 m of cabling.
The ascent of Monte Cinto is for trained climbers, who are used to rock climbing.
After 3 hours climbing, you reach the summit here the panorama takes in all of Corsica and even as far as the Alpes Maritimes and the islands of the Tyrrhenien sea.

Climbing has also been developped on the cliffs of Ponte-Leccia and Patrimonio and in the gorges of the Restonica and the vallée du Vecchio.
